Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Minvy LLC ("Minvy," "we," "us," or "our") takes your privacy seriously. This policy describes how we handle your information across the Minvy mobile app and the Minvy website and web app at minvy.ai (together, the "Service"), including data accessed through Google APIs.
Information We Collect
- Account information — your email address and, optionally, a display name.
- Your inventory content — the items, categories, properties, descriptions, values, notes, serial/purchase details, and photos you add.
- AI-feature inputs — the photos (and any text) you submit to AI-assisted features such as photo identification (see "AI Processing by Anthropic").
- Usage & device data — storage used, AI/usage counts, and log/diagnostic data (such as IP address, timestamps, and error logs) needed to run and secure the Service.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processors (Stripe on the web; Apple for App Store purchases). We do not store full payment-card numbers.
- Google account data — only if you connect Google features (see the Google sections below).
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
AI Processing by Anthropic (Claude)
When you use an AI-assisted feature (for example, AI photo identification or bulk add), the photos and related text you submit are transmitted to Anthropic, PBC — the provider of the Claude AI models — which processes them on our behalf, as our service provider, solely to generate the suggested results we return to you. Anthropic processes this content to provide the feature, not to build a profile of you, and does not use submitted content to train its models under its commercial/API terms. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete — you should review it before relying on it. If you would rather an image not be processed by AI, do not use the AI feature for it; you can enter item details manually.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; to run AI features you invoke; to process payments and manage subscriptions; to communicate with you (service, security, and billing messages); to enforce our Terms and prevent abuse; and to comply with law.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA). We disclose information only to: service providers who help us run the Service under contracts limiting their use of the data — including Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, database, and authentication), Anthropic (AI processing), Stripe (web payments), and Apple (App Store payments); people you choose (such as collaborators you grant access to, or recipients of share links you create, which are opt-in, scoped, and revocable by you); legal/safety recipients where required by law or to protect rights and the integrity of the Service; and a successor in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (you will be notified of any change in who controls your data).
General Data Collection
Minvy LLC does not collect any personal information from your general use of this App. If we have any of your personal information we will not willingly sell or give it to anyone, except if lawfully subpoenaed to produce it and then only after offering you a reasonable chance to challenge such subpoena if allowed by law.
Google User Data — What We Access
When you connect your Google account to Minvy, our application may access the following Google user data:
- Gmail message content and metadata (such as senders, recipients, subjects, and timestamps) solely to provide the email-related features of the App
- Google account identifier information necessary to authenticate your session
We access only the minimum data necessary to provide the features you request.
Google User Data — How We Use It
Google user data is used solely to operate and deliver the features of the App that you have requested. Specifically:
- Gmail data is used only to perform actions you explicitly initiate within the App
- Gmail data is never used to train AI models
- No human at Minvy will read your emails
- Google user data is never used for advertising or marketing purposes
Our use of Google data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google User Data — Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We do not sell, share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data to any third party, except in the following limited circumstances:
- When required by law or valid legal process (such as a subpoena), and only after offering you a reasonable opportunity to challenge such process if permitted by law
- To trusted service providers who assist us in operating the App, strictly under confidentiality obligations and only to the extent necessary to provide those services, and who are themselves prohibited from further sharing or using your data
- In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, in which case you will be notified and your data will remain subject to this policy
We do not share Google user data with any third party for their independent use.
Google User Data — Retention and Deletion
We retain Google user data only for as long as necessary to provide the features of the App that you have requested. Specifically:
- Google user data accessed during a session is not stored beyond what is required to complete the requested action
- We do not maintain long-term storage of your Gmail content
- You may request deletion of any Google user data we hold by contacting us at the address below
- Upon receiving a deletion request, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including your Google user data, against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that your information will never be lost, accessed, or disclosed without authorization. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and authorities as required by applicable law (including California breach-notification law). You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important content (see the Terms).
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, subject to backups, security logs, and legal-retention requirements.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know/access the personal information we hold, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell or share), and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise them, contact us at support@minvy.ai; we will verify your request and respond within the timeframes the law requires. Depending on where you live, you may have similar rights under other laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the Service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
