Importing items via receipt scan (OCR)

Photograph a receipt to auto-populate item fields using on-device text recognition.

Minvy can read a receipt photo using on-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and use the results to pre-fill item details. This happens entirely on your iPhone — no data is sent to a server for basic OCR.

How to scan a receipt

Tap + to add a new item.
Tap Scan Receipt.
Point your camera at the receipt and capture it.
Minvy extracts item names and prices where possible and pre-fills the item fields.
Review the suggestions, edit as needed, and tap Save.

Tip: For complex multi-item receipts, consider using AI-powered receipt OCR (Premium, uses AI credits) for more accurate extraction.
