Minvy is designed with your privacy in mind. Here's a clear breakdown of where your data lives and how it's used.
Core users
- All inventory data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account.
- Minvy's servers never see your item data.
- Barcode lookups and on-device OCR are processed locally.
Premium users
- Inventory data syncs through AWS to support cross-device access. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Gmail import requires a read-only OAuth permission scoped to receipt search. Minvy does not read, store, or transmit other email content.
- AI features send only the specific image or text needed for analysis. No other data is transmitted.
What Minvy never does
- Sell or share your data with third parties
- Use your data to train AI models
- Access your camera, microphone, or location without your explicit action
