Categories: rooms and collections
How to create, rename, and manage categories to organize your inventory.
Categories are the folders of Minvy. Every item lives inside a category, which lives inside a property. A category typically represents a room (Kitchen, Garage) or a collection (Cameras, Jewellery).
Managing categories on iPhone
- Add — tap the + button on the property home screen.
- Rename — long-press a category and tap Rename, or open it and tap Edit.
- Delete — long-press and tap Delete. Note: deleting a category deletes all items inside it.
Managing categories on the web (Premium) You can view and rename categories from the web app. Deleting categories is supported on iPhone only.
Tip: Use collections for items that don't belong to a physical room — for example, 'Insurance Claims', 'Sell', or 'High Value Items'.
