Barcode scanning
Scan a product barcode to automatically populate item details.
Minvy can scan barcodes using your iPhone camera. For books, scanning the ISBN barcode looks up the title, author, and publisher automatically.
How to scan a barcode
- Tap + to add a new item.
- Tap Scan Barcode.
- Point your camera at the barcode. Minvy detects it automatically — no button press needed.
- For a book's ISBN barcode, the title and details are pre-filled — review, edit, and tap Save.
For other product barcodes, the number is saved as a reference on the item and you fill in the details manually.
Tip: Barcode scanning works best in good lighting. Try angling the camera slightly if the scan doesn't trigger.
