Use AI to extract multiple items from a complex receipt in one step.
Standard on-device OCR handles simple receipts well. For complex receipts — supermarket runs, multi-item invoices, or receipts with poor formatting — AI-powered OCR can extract line items more accurately. This is a Premium feature and uses AI credits.
When to use AI receipt OCR vs basic OCR
- Basic OCR (no credits) — best for single-item receipts, appliance invoices, or clear two-column formats.
- AI OCR (uses credits) — best for complex multi-item receipts, scanned or photographed documents, or receipts where basic OCR gives poor results.
How to use AI receipt OCR
- Tap + to add items and select Scan Receipt.
- Photograph or upload the receipt.
- If basic OCR results are poor, tap Try with AI.
- Review the extracted items, select which ones to import, and tap Save.
Tip: AI receipt OCR can create multiple items from a single receipt in one step, saving significant time for large purchases.
